Texans who are considering a divorce but are still unsure whether to proceed might follow the lead of actress and model Liberty Ross, who has reportedly has sought legal counsel even though she has not announced her intention to end her marriage.
Ross is married to director Rupert Sanders, who recently directed young actress Kristen Stewart in “Snow White and the Huntsman.” Widely circulated photos of Sanders and Stewart in compromising positions led to both Sanders and Stewart publicly acknowledging the relationship, issuing apologies to their significant others.
Since then, Ross has been photographed about town without her wedding ring, while Sanders has continued to wear his.
By seeking quality representation prior to any divorce filing, Ross could gain the upper hand in the case. That could be especially beneficial because a divorce where this is a great deal of wealth at stake might not necessarily be an easy one.
Ross, 33, wants to return home to the United Kingdom after moving to the United States only for her husband’s film career, according to media reports. She reportedly intends to take their children, a 7-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy, with her and enroll them in school there.
That means that any divorce settlement would include international custody and visitation clauses, in addition to typical agreements over finances and property.
While Sanders appears to hope for a reconciliation, Ross’ alleged meetings with high-profile attorneys likely send a different message. Her early involvement in proceedings could lead to better preparation and an easier end to her marriage that will benefit her and their children.
